The Bangladesh Cricket Board handed over the Tk 50 lakh cheque to the Bangladesh women’s football team.
After the women’s team clinched the SAFF championship title in September of last year against their Nepal counterpart in Kathmandu, the BCB promised to hand over the amount to BFF.
However, members of the Bangladesh national women's team came to the BCB premises on Thursday to collect the awarded sum of money.
However, complications evolved after the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) said that they did not know anything about the money that was to be given as reward, while BCB said yesterday that the check had been ready for a while.
Eventually the issue came to an end after captain Sabina Khatun, along with her fellow team members and coach Golam Rabbani Choton, came to the BCB premises today to collect the reward.
BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury and the board’s cricket operations chairman, Jalal Yunus, handed over the check to the members of the SAFF title winners.
