We will be happy with an `upset': Shakib

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan said on Tuesday that if they can earn a win against India or Pakistan in this T20 World Cup that would be considered as an upset however he would be contended with it.

Bangladesh is set to take on the top ranked of the ICC T20 ranking, India in their fourth Super 12 on Wednesday in Adelaide.

The match will begin at 2 pm Bangladesh Standard Time and GTV, T Sports will televise the game live.

‘We are aiming to play well in the next two games and if we can win any that would be termed as an upset and if we can make it would be happy,’ said Shakib in the pre-match press conference.

Conversely if we fail to do that we wouldn't have anything more to say. If you take a look at the remaining two sides are better than us. But if we play up to par then why couldn’t we win?’

Citing Ireland and Zimbabwe as examples the ace all-rounder said that the both minnows pulled off their upset wins stunning England and Pakistan respectively.

‘We have experienced in this World Cup that Ireland and Zimbabwe sealed their wins over England and Pakistan. So we would be contended if we could also bag that kind of win.’

The Southpaw further directed his fellow team mates to appear with a superlative batting display if they want to score 160-170 against a world class bowling attack that India preserves.

‘I think India got a very good bowling attack. If you see they restricted most of the sides within 160-170, indicates that they have bowled very well. Therefore, once we aim to amass 160-170 we need to bat superb.’

He additionally stressed on giving their best while taking on the former world champions.

‘And If we want to play up to par against them we need to handle their bowlers adeptly as they have world class bowlers. In fact, we have to play our best.’

Bangladesh have featured in 11 T20Is against India where they won only and lost on 10 occasions.
