Pace man Jasprit Bumrah will miss the series while Ravindra Jadeja made his come-back in the squad for their approaching tour against Bangladesh for Two Tests and three ODIs starting in December.
Bumrah has been ruled out on the back of his back strain that also made him unavailable in the ongoing edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
The 28-year-old was also not selected for India’s tour in New Zealand as well.
Hanuma Vihari has been axed from the squad for the two-Test series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship while Ajinkya Rahane continues to miss out on selection after having been dropped for the series against Sri Lanka and the fifth Test against England.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja would make his return in the Tests and ODIs after a moderate hiatus as he suffered a knee injury that he suffered during the Asia cup made him unavailable for selection of the ongoing World Cup.
India are scheduled to start the tour of Bangladesh with three ODIs in Mirpur on December 4, 7 and 10, after which they play two Tests in Chattogram (December 14-18) and Mirpur (December 22-26).
