Bangladesh trounced Sri Lanka by seven wickets in their first warm up game for the World Cup today at Guwahati.
Sri Lanka, opting to bat first, posted 263 before being all out in 49.1 overs.
For Bangladesh, offspinner Mahedi Hasan claimed 3-36.
Pathum Nissanka made team-best 68 while Dhananjaya de Silva scored 55.
Bangladesh gunned down the target in just 42 overs, reaching 264-3.
Youngster Tanzid Hasan Tamim blasted 84 off 88, smashing 10 fours and two sixes. But what gave Bangladesh a relief was the form of Liton Das who shrugged off his recent bad patch with 56 ball-61.
He and Tanzid shared 152 in the opening stand to give Bangladesh a strong platform. Later Mehidy Hasan Miraz who led the side in this match in absence of Shakib Al Hasan hit an unbeaten 67 to hasten the victory.
Bangladesh lost twice to Sri Lanka in the recently concluded Asia Cup.
