The Bangladesh national cricket team is all set to start their Asia Cup preparation with the fitness camp that is scheduled to start at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur on Monday.
National team chief selector Minhajul Abedin told reporters on Sunday that they are going to call-up 32 cricketers who would initially attend a fitness test followed by the YoYo test ahead of the commencement of their skill training for the regional competition.
‘Our fitness camp is going to begin on July 31. The players will undergo a YoYo test on August 3. We have prepared a list that includes 32 players,’ said Minhajul.
The former Bangladesh skipper further affirmed that they would incorporate a sum of 21 or 22 players in the final squad of the Asia Cup which is anticipated to be notified in the first week of August adding that they would commence their skill training on August 8.
‘Our skill training will kick start on August 8, before that we will announce our 21 or 22 men squad on August 5 or may be 6.’
With Sri Lanka hosting four games and the remaining 13 ties being played in Pakistan, the next edition of the Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on August 30 with Pakistan taking on Nepal in the tournament opener in Multan.
Bangladesh will kick-off their forthcoming Asia Cup campaign against Sri Lanka in Kandy, Sri Lanka, on August 31.
