The Bangladesh Cricket Board has settled on not to announce a primary squad for the approaching Asia Cup but the players who belong to the national pool will start giving their fitness tests on July 31.
After adjudging their fitness level, the Tiger Cricket Administration will notify the final squad for the forthcoming regional competition, and the skill training camp will commence thereafter on August 8.
‘No preliminary squad will be announced for the Asia Cup. The national pool campaigners will underway the fitness tests on July 31,’ said Minhajul Abedin, the chief selector, while talking to Sports Mail.
‘We will submit the final squad by the first couple of days of August for media release and would start the skill training camp on August 8.’
With Sri Lanka hosting four games and the remaining 13 ties being played in Pakistan, the next edition of the Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on August 30 with Pakistan taking on Nepal in the tournament opener in Multan.
Bangladesh will kick-start their forthcoming Asia Cup campaign against Sri Lanka in Kandy, Sri Lanka, on August 31.
