Bangladesh women’s team wrist-spinner Fahima Khatun promised to put a healthy total on the board to seal their maiden ODI series when they take on India in the third and final one-day international at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.
The match will kick-start at 9:30 a.m., and the Bangladesh Cricket Board will stream the game live on YouTube.
The home side went up 1-0 in the series by registering a 40-run win in the D/L method in the first game, but the visitors leveled it 1-1 after they secured a commanding 108-run victory in the next game.
‘It shouldn’t be fair enough to predict earlier how many runs would be chaseable. They [India] had to toil hard despite our managing 150 in the first ODI, said Fahima on Friday in Mirpur.’
‘Our batting unit has really great potential. They are thinking in-person about how they should feature. As a team, we are thinking of making a healthy total tomorrow.’
Given the hosts dismal batting in the second tie, where they were bundled out for a sorry 120 in 35.1 overs, the 30-year-old bowling all-rounder said that they are keen to overcome it in the series decider.
‘We discussed a lot for the last two days regarding the mistakes we made in the second game. Yes, I must admit that we have been playing better cricket. And in the first ODI, we performed as a unit and also tried in the next game.’
‘However, we couldn’t play our best as a batting unit. We are hopeful to try our best as a unit.’
As a bowling unit, Bangladesh had a brilliant outing in the series opener as they bowled out the defending Asian champions for 113 in 35.5 overs, that paved their way to a maiden ODI victory over the visitors.
However, Fahima vowed to repeat the same show to secure their maiden series win over the mighty side.
‘As a bowling unit, we couldn’t perform at the expected level in the last game. So we will try to perform as a batting and bowling unit and will also be watchful not to repeat the same mistakes.'
