The Bangladesh Cricket Board is set to axe their chief curator for Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Sanjeev Agarwal after he failed to prepare ideal wickets in the country’s Test playing venue.
BCB women’s wing chairman and also a director, told reporters on Wednesday that they are going to appoint an interim curator for the ground shortly.
‘He wouldn’t stay with us anymore. We are going to appoint an interim curator instead, Sanjeev,’ he said.
The wickets of the SICS faced severe critcicism during the recently concluded Women’s Asia Cup due to its extremely slow and low surface that handed ample low-scoring games.
During the regional competition, even women's team head coach AKM Mahmmud Emon yelled at the wickets in front of the media.
Sanjeev, who joined his work place on Wednesday following a vacation, will hand over his charges to the board dully.
BCB appointed Sanjeev in the later part of 2019 as the head curator for SICS, while Praveen Hinganikar was recruited as the chief curator for the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram at the same time.
