BCB omits Jahanara in T20Is against India

The Bangladesh Cricket Board omitted their veteran campaigner Jahanara Alam in the 16-member T20I squad that they announced on Wednesday against their Indian counterparts that starts at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on July 9.

Jahanara, the fourth highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in the shortest format, featured in just one of the three T20Is in Sri Lanka.

The hosts have also included uncapped opening batter Shathi Rani, rewarded for her 254-run tally, at an average of 50.80 and a strike rate of 151.19, in the just-concluded women's premier league.

Meanwhile, Dilara Akter and Marufa Akter made a return in the shortest format.

The series will begin with three Twenty20 internationals that are scheduled for July 9, 11, and 13 followed by the as many one-day internationals on July 16, 19 and 22.

The defending women’s Asian champions will arrive Dhaka on July 6 to vie in the series.
