Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal said that he is currently feeling well and all set to feature in the series opener against their Afghanistan counterparts at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Wednesday.
He further affirmed that he would also be available for the remaining two games of the series if he feels okay during the first tie of the three one-day internationals.
Tamim who is suffering from a recurrence of back pain and attended the training in the last two days skipped the final day’s practice on Tuesday.
‘I am available for tomorrow. My physical condition is better than earlier, however, I wouldn’t say that I am hundred percent fit. I would be able to understand my physical state better following the tomorrow’s game,’ said Tamim in the official presser in Chattogram.
With the forthcoming Asia Cup and ICC World Cup in mind where Bangladesh will face the same opponents, the southpaw believes that the series is going to be significant for them it would give them an opportunity to understand the strength and weaknesses of their counterparts.
‘They are a good side in the white ball cricket who also have a best bowling side. We will play a total of four games against them before the World Cup where we will understand the strength and weaknesses of each other.’
He also asserted that they would try to accommodate the young campaigners to get the best possible combination for the forthcoming World Cup, however, he didn’t guarantee it.
