India clinched their maiden Women's Emerging Asia Cup as they beat Bangladesh by 31 runs in the title decider at Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok, Hong Kong.
Bangladesh, who restricted India to a humble 127-7 in the 20-over game, suffered a batting collapse as they were all-out for 96 in 19.2 overs.
Nahida Akter scored the highest, with an unbeaten 22-ball, 17-run knock, while their next highest were 16 and 13 from Sobhana Mostary and Shathi Rani.
Opener Shathi Rani had gotten off to a rapid start, scoring 13 off 11 deliveries but Bangladesh lost momentum as they lost two wickets inside just 3.2 overs. Bangladesh never had a decent partnership from then on, losing wickets at regular intervals.
For India A, Shreyanka Patil starred with the ball in hand, returning figures of four for 13.
Earlier, after being asked to field first, Bangladesh bowlers managed to put on a decent showing. Nahida Akter and Sultana Khatun took two wickets each for the Tigresses.
