Bangladesh women's emerging team reached the final of the Women's Emerging Teams Cup as they defeated their Pakistan counterparts by 6 runs in a rain-marred game.
The match went to reserve day on the back of a heavy shower and was then reduced to nine-over-a-side.
Batting first, Bangladesh made 59 for 7 following a batting collapse that saw them reduced to six down for 16 runs in 3.4 overs.
Tail enders Rabeya Khatun and Nahida Akter, who scored 10 and 21 off 16 deliveries, saved Bangladesh’s young squadron.
With Pakistan needing 13 off the final over, they were restricted to 53-4 thanks to Sanjida Akter’s low-priced bowling that allowed them to bag six runs in the final over.
Bangladesh will face India in the final tomorrow.
