Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday returned Afif Hossain and Ebadot Hossain in their 15-man squad for the two-match Twenty20 international series against Afghanistan starting next month.
Afif forced his way back into the squad due to his consistent performance in domestic circuit after he was dropped from the Bangladesh squad during their recent home series against Ireland.
He scored 550 runs from 15 matches to help Abahani Limited to become champions in the recently concluded Dhaka Premier League.
His performance in the 50-over format DPL also prompted the BCB selectors to bring him back to the ODI squad for a three-match series against the same opponents.
On the other hand, Ebadot, who claimed five wickets in Bangladesh’s record 546-run win in the one-off Test against Afghanistan on Saturday, played the last of his four T20Is against Pakistan in December 2022.
The two T20 matches of the series will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on July 14 and 16.
In the past, the two teams played in nine T20I matches with Afghanistan having the upper hand by winning six against Bangladesh’s three wins.
