Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed left his contention thanks to their maiden win at the Super of any T20 World Cup that they secured against Netherlands in Hobart on Monday.
The right-arm fast bowler ended with his career best 4-25 in the T20Is that handed Bangladesh a nine-run win over their Dutch counterpart.
The Netherlands, who held the Tigers to a humble 144-8, were bowled out for 135 in the stipulated over.
‘I am happy that we won. In today’s situation, we were looking for wickets. That’s why three bowlers finished earlier,'said Taskin in the post-match presser.
Chasing a modest 145, the Netherlands struggled awfully as they lost their top two batsmen, Vikramjit Singh and Bas de Leede, for 2 inside the two deliveries that stood Taskin before the hat-trick, but Ackermann cleared it, clipping through mid-wicket.
The 27-year-old acknowledged that he was expecting the hat-trick whole-heartedly.
‘I did expect it, but I bowled the delivery in the same process. Hat-trick and five-wicket hauls need a bit of luck. But I am happy that I could contribute to a win.’
He also claimed that featuring in the 2015 ICC World Cup that was held in Australia too helped him vastly to finish with an up to par show with the ball.
‘I played in the 2015 World Cup in Australia. I experienced sporting conditions, the ball swings a bit more with the new ball but gets easier for the batter later. If we can execute according to the situation, we can do well in the future. Our main goal is improvement.’
