Pakistan invites Bangladesh, Aus, NZ, SA to play ODI before WC

The Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] has contacted four cricket boards to host one-day international [ODI] matches for the Pakistan team before the 2023 World Cup.

The approaching ICC World Cup is scheduled to be played in October–November of this year in India.

According to a press release by Cricket Pakistan on Monday, the PCB has initiated contact with Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, inviting them to visit Pakistan in August and participate in either bilateral or tri-nation series.

The PCB's email to the aforementioned boards stated that these series would offer the visiting teams an opportunity to acclimatize to the conditions in the subcontinent ahead of the mega event.

During a media presser in Lahore on Saturday, Grant Bradburn, Pakistan’s head coach, highlighted the significance of securing additional matches to ensure the readiness of the Pakistani team for the major event.

He further disclosed that the PCB has been actively organizing matches leading up to the crucial 50-over season.
