On Wednesday, three members of the New Zealand Cricket Board visited the facilities of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium ahead of the series against Bangladesh in the latter part of September this year.
As per the Future Tour Plan of the ICC, the touring Kiwis are scheduled to play three one-day internationals against the Tigers at SICS as a buildup to the ICC World Cup in October–November in India.
It is understood that it was a routine inspection ahead of an international series where the Blackcaps observer team oversees the facilities of the venue.
After the visit, Shariar Nafees, the cricket operations manager for the Bangladesh Cricket Board, who represented the host board alongside grounds and facilities chief Syed Abdul Baten, gave a summary of the day.
He asserted that the observer unit of NZ cricket has conveyed their contentment.
'The boards of countries like New Zealand, England, and Australia used to send an inspection team ahead of an international series. We have discussed the possibility of holding a few games in Sylhet.'
It was also learned that along the main venue of the SICS, the Kiwi inspection team visited the press box, galleries, and the outer stadium.
