The Bangladesh Cricket Board axed their former national women’s team chief selector Manjurul Islam after he underwent a severe denunciation due to his despotism during his stint for the former Asian champions.
Manjur’s oppression within the team was revealed after he dropped Bangladesh’s two senior campaigners, Salma Khatun and Rumana, from the series against the host Sri Lanka for the three one-day internationals and similar number of Twenty20 internationals in the early part of this month.
Afterwards, it was also learned that the former Bangladesh national team pacer behaved rudely with the other members of the team, that forced the national women’s team to find out his replacement.
‘We are set to reshape our women’s team’s management by appointing Sazzad Ahmed and Sojol Ahmed Chowdhuy as the selectors while including Dipu Roy Chowdhury and Wahidul Gani as local coaches,’ said BCB’s women’s wing chairman Shafiul Alam Chowdhury on Monday.
Manjurul was handed the role in the latter part of 2020 after the former chief selector, Atahar Ali Khan, was removed from the position on the back of his commitment as an international commentator.
