The Bangladesh Cricket Board is set to hold an official training camp for the national team from May 29 ahead of the one off Test match against Afghanistan that is scheduled to kick off at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on June 14.
Seeking anonymity a Bangladesh Cricket Board official told Sports Mail on Saturday that that camp would include the fragmentary members in the red-ball cricket as the remaining of them would be unavailable due to their occupation for Bangladesh A against the touring West Indies A for the third and final unofficial Test in Sylhet on May 30.
The official camp would commence after the conclusion of the A team’s series.
‘You may term it an "unofficial training camp", since we haven’t announced the squad yet. It includes the limited members who are the common faces in our red-ball cricket, as the remaining part of them would be occupied with the third match against the West Indies A,’ said the official.
‘The members who would be playing for Bangladesh A will join after the conclusion of the game. By that time, our head coach, Chadika Hathurusingha, will return among us [on June 3], and we are expected to finish preparing our squad by that time.’
Earlier on May 25, the BCB incorporated Mominul Haque, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam into a 14-man Bangladesh A squad for the series finale against the Caribbean.
It is understood that the team management would assess them before they announced the final squad.
Bangladesh pace bowling coach Allan Donald is also anticipated to return on the same day as Hathusingha.
