Shadman Islam, Shahadat Hossain, and Irfan Shukkur each hit fifty, fifty that powered Bangladesh A to a 166-run lead at stumps on the third day of the second of the three unofficial Tests against the West Indies in Sylhet on Thursday.
Shadman, Shahadat, and Irfan made 74, 50, and an unbeaten 64, respectively, to manage 274-6 in their second innings, in reply to 345 all out by the visitors.
In the first inning, Bangladesh were bundled out for 237.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, claiming 4-59.
West Indies resumed their innings on 268-6 with their overnight batsmen Jashua Da Silva and Kevin Sinclair, who remained unbeaten on 9 and 1 runs, respectively.
However, although the former went untroubled until the conclusion of their inning, making an undefeated 47, he barely found someone from the other end to bolster their innings.
Sinclair fell to Sakib for 32.
Aside from Sakib’s four wicket haul, Saif Hasan took two, and Khaled Ahmed, Tanvir Islam, and Nayeem Hasan claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, the home side made a humble total thanks to Shandman, Shahadat, and Irfan’s half centuries each.
Sinclair claimed 3 while Akeem Jordan and Raymon Reifer scalped two and one wicket, respectively.
