The Bangladesh High Performance Unit is set to hold their camp for 2023 season under the tutelage of the newly appointed head coach David Hemp on Wednesday v at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The first phase of the camp has been split into three parts with physical screening and fitness tests scheduled in Dhaka from May 24 – 31.
Then the camp will move to Rajshahi [June 01 – 08], followed by Bogra [June 09-26] for skill training.
In July 2023, the HP Squad will participate in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
Hemp, 52, had a prolific first class career as a batsman for Glamorgan, Free State and Warwickshire and featured in 24 internationals for Bermuda.
He was the head coach of the Pakistan Women’s National Team from 2020-2022. Hemp has agreed a two-year term with the BCB which will end in June 2025.
The BCB has also hired the services of Dr. David Scott who will be the HP Squad’s Sports Psychologist. Dr Scott is an expert on behaviour change and performance enhancement in sport.
