Bangladesh all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz conveyed his utmost gratitude to the governing body of the ICC on Monday after he received the cap for being named in their Men's ODI Team of the Year for 2022.
The Team of the Year acknowledges eleven exceptional campaigners who have impressed with the bat, the ball, or their all-round performances in a calendar year.
Mehidy Hasan, who displayed some outstanding performances both with the bat and ball, emerged as one of the most consistent all-rounders in ODI cricket in 2022.
With his effective bowling, the 25-year-old could also prove his worth in batting, hitting an unbeaten 100 in the second of three one-day internationals against the touring India in the latter part of last year.
He picked up 24 wickets in 15 games at an average of 28.20, with a best performance of 4/29, totaling 330 runs at a superb average of 66.
The other ten players in the team are: Travis Head of Australia, Shai Hope of the West Indies, Shreyas Iyer of India, Tom Latham of New Zealand, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, Alzarri Joseph of the West Indies, Mohammed Siraj of India, and Trent Boult of New Zealand.
