After missing out on the third one-day international against Ireland in England the Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is also set to be unavailable in the approaching lone Test match against the touring Afghanistan at home due to a finger strain that he suffered during the second tie against the Irish.
As per Bangladesh Cricket Board officials, Bangladesh are expected to feature in the one off Test against Afghanistan on June 10.
On the other hand, according to BCB physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan, the ace all-rounder would need around six weeks to heal his injury completely, that ends on June 13 or 14, suggesting that Shakib would be sidelined when his fellow team mates will be playing in the red-ball series.
‘An X-ray today confirmed a fracture on the base of the index finger. Such injuries usually take around six weeks to heal. Unfortunately, this means he is not available for the last match against Ireland,’ asserted Bayejid in the press release notified by the BCB on Saturday.
The champion cricketer, who finished with 26 runs while remaining wicketless in his nine over spells in a 45-over-a-side second ODI against Ireland, sustained the injury during the fielding session against the hosts on May 12 in Chelmsford, England.
