Defending champion Sheikh Jamal skipper Nurul Hasan said that his side is not feeling any sort of pressure ahead of their title deciding clash against Abahani Limited in the ongoing season of the Dhaka Premier League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today.
The match will start at 9 a.m.
Sk. Jamal are holding the second position in the points table, having the same 26 points as Abahani due to poor run-rate, after the fifteen rounds of games in the meet,
Now, to clinch their second crown in the country’s top 50-over domestic tournament, they just need to earn a victory against the three-time title winners.
‘Nothing to take pressure on, I think. As you said, we were not a better side on paper, but we all ultimately did well,’ said Sk. Jamal captain Nurul Hasan on Friday.
He further stressed the importance of following the process to bag one more crown than they did in their past games.
‘We would be aiming to follow the process that we did earlier. We are thinking of a team performance instead of an individual.’
On the contrary, considering the initial head-to-head defeat in the league phase against the same side, Abahani would be needed to win the tie with a superior run-rate to intensify their number of championships.
However, Abahani captain Mosaddek Hossain voiced his readiness to return the heat to their rivals, adding that the second encounter has always been inspiring for them.
‘We can consider it a lucky chance since we lost the early tie. It would also be inspiring for us, as we have been winning in the second leg for a few years.’
‘Sheikh Jamal is such a counterpart who holds the ability to beat any side. They have been playing really well throughout the tournament. Will try to give our hundred percent in the field.’
