Sri Lanka women’s team clinched the three Twenty20 internationals by 2-1 as they beat Bangladesh by 44 runs in the third and final match in Colombo on Friday.
With NIlakshi de Silva and Harshitha Samarawickrame remaining unbeaten on a quick-fire 39-ball 63, and 51 off 54 balls respectively the touring side posted a challenging 158-3 in the stipulated overs.
In reply, Bangladesh were restricted to 114-7 thanks to 31 off 33 balls and 30 off 25 balls respectively from Nigar Sultana and Sobhana Mostary.
Udeshika Prabodhani, Inoka Ranaweera, and Kawya Kavindi each picked up two wickets for Sri Lanka.
Although the home side suffered an early loss after being sent to bat, as their opener Vishmi Gunaratne fell to Rabeya Khan for 2 inside the fourth over that limited them to 16-1.
However, they strongly bounced back in the game and put up a healthy total thanks to a robust fifty each from Harshitha and Niakshi in the stipulated overs.
Rabeya Khan, Nahida Akter and Fahima Khatun took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Bangladesh made a teetering start losing their top order trio for 50 and continued until the final delivery to be finished with a dismal outing against their counterpart.
