The Bangladesh national cricket team is set to start their series against Afghanistan, with the lone Test match starting on June 14.
Seeking anonymity a Bangladesh Cricket Board official told Sports Mail that after the conclusion of the red-ball cricket, the visiting side would tour India to take part in a series against the hosts.
Afterwards, they will return to Bangladesh following Eid-ul-Azha to feature in the remaining part of the series, which includes three one day internationals and two Twenty20Is.
‘We will start the series with the one-off Test against Afghanistan on June 14. After the game, the visitors will leave Bangladesh for India to play a series against the home side,’ said the official.
‘After the conclusion of the series against India, Afghanistan will return to take part in three ODIs and two T20Is subsequently to Eid-ul-Azha,’ he added.
He further revealed that after scrapping one Test from the original fixture, the host BCB has also discarded one T20I.
As per the initial fixture, provided in the ICC men’s Future Plan both sides were scheduled to play two Tests and three T20Is.
