Bangladesh women’s team captain Nigar Sultana conveyed her outmost contentment following their six wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the opener of three one-day internationals in Colombo on Tuesday.
The former Asian champions reached the victory 146-6 thanks to Nigar’s unbeaten 75 off 51 balls, a total of 145-6.
‘Alhamduillah, I feel really great that we could secure the opening tie of the series where I could contribute,’ said Nigar after the game.
She further vowed to continue the momentum in the next game as well.
‘I am greatly hopeful with my side and would be trying to continue the momentum in the approaching game.’
The 25-year-old revealed that they achieved success after they followed the plans provided by their coaches.
‘We were moving towards the plans that were designed by our coaches.’
The second match of the series will be played on Thursday.
