Bangladesh Cricket Board’s cricket operations chairman Mohammad Jalal Yunus believes that the Indian Premier League authority doesn’t treat all cricketers from different parts of the world equally.
He further asserted that the IPL officials ought to hand one more opportunity to their national campaigner, Liton Das, who had to return home following his single appearance for the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Delhi Capitals.
‘May be they are prioratising the others over us. I don’t think that it should be. All would be treated equally,’ said Yunus on Saturday.
‘Mustafiz [Mustafizur Rahman] and Shakib [Shakib Al Hasan] have been playing for a long time in the meet. Liton went for the first time. They [the IPL] should have given him one more chance. I don’t feel that they are unbiased,’ he added.
The veteran Bangladesh Cricket Board director pointed it out afterwards the frustrating return of Mustafizur and Liton.
The former, who was retained by Delhi, could make his appearances in two games against the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he went over-priced at 79, claiming just a single wicket.
And the latter, who had to wait five matches to make his first IPL appearance, failed to make his mark on debut as he could score only four runs against the Delhi Capitals in Delhi on April 20.
The wicketkeeper-batsman wasn’t even close to his best with gloves during the match, as he missed two crucial stumpings and his side had to finish on the losing side.
on the other hand, Kolkata’s West Indies recruit Sunil Narine, who scalped only seven wickets along with 14 runs for the side in all 10 games, looks like an automatic choice for the side despite his dismal run in contention.
