Bangladesh former Test skipper Mominul Haque and pacer Khaled Ahmed who failed to make a cut in the opener of the two four-day games against the touring West Indies ‘A’ will play the last game of the series.
According to Bangladesh national selector Habibul Bashar, apart from the duo, the remaining players, who are also expected to feature in the forthcoming home series against Afghanistan in June, would get a chance to make appearances in the last game of the series.
‘Both of them [Mominul and Khaled] will play the last game against West Indies 'A'. Not only them cricketers expected to be part of Test squad against Afghanistan, but those who failed to get a chance in the opening two games will also feature in the last four-day game as part of preparation for the Afghan Test series,’ said Habibul Bashar on Thursday.
BCB appointed Afif Hossain as the captain of the side for the opening two games against their West Indian counterpart.
Out of favor, national opener Mohammad Naim managed to make a cut in the squad that also includes several players of the national set-up like Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shadman Islam, and Naeem Hasan, among others.
Surprisingly, there was no place for former Test skipper Mominul Haque or pacer Khaled Ahmed, who is also considered a front-runner to play his part in longer-version cricket.
The two unofficial Tests are scheduled to be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on May 16 and May 23.
