Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to miss out the lone warm-up tie when his fellow colleagues will take on the Ireland Wolves, scheduled to kick off on Friday, at the Fenner’s Cricket Ground, Cambridge, England.
Earlier, the touring Tigers underwent a two-day training camp before going into the practice game.
Shakib, who left Bangladesh for the US following the Eid holidays in his hometown Magura, is expected to reach Chelmsford today.
However, the ace all-rounder wouldn’t take part in the tie, confirmed the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s senior media manager, Rabeed Imam, who is traveling with the team.
‘Shakib is anticipated to join us today; however, he wouldn’t play in the match,’ said Rabeed Imam while talking to on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Liton Das, who returned from the Indian Premier League in the last week after his short stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders, has already reached England on Wednesday.
Another Bangladesh campaigner, Mustafizur Rahman, who returned to Dhaka on Wednesday, also left for the UK on Thursday ahead of the game.
The three ODIs, which are part of the ICC World Cup Super League, are scheduled for May 9, 12, and 14 in Chelmsford.
