Persistent rain has washed out the opener of the three one-day internationals between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka women’s team in Colombo on Saturday.
The rain interrupted the tie after the host, Sri Lanka, posted 152-6 in 36.4 overs.
Skipper Chamari Athapattu scored the top with 47 off 37 balls, while an unbeaten 30 came from Kavisha Dilhari’s willow.
Nahida Akter was the standout bowler for the visitors, claiming 3-24, and Jahanara Alam, Sultana Khatun, and Fahima Khatun took one wicket apiece.
Opting to bat first, the home side suffered a massive batting collapse as they were limited to 117-6 in 27.3 overs.
Then, in the seventh wicket, Kavisha and Oshadi Ranasinghe added 35 runs to pull the hosts to the hundred and fifty mark before the rain obstructs the game.
The latter went undefeated on a 29-ball 14.
The second tie will be played on May 2.
