Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the one-off Test match against Ireland after he suffered a left-side strain injury, confirmed a Bangladesh Cricket Board official seeking anonymity.
‘Yes, he [Taskin] is ruled out of the lone Test match against Ireland. He is suffering from the left side strain injury and he would take at least two weeks to heal, said the official while talking to Sportmail24.
Taskin who was enjoying the sublime spell of his career claiming 11 wickets in the two one day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals was expected to lead the Tigers pace bowling attack.
However, Bangladesh national team selector Habibul Bashar said that they are set to announce Taskin’s replacement shortly.
The one-ff Test will be held from April 4 to 8 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
