Bangladesh Cricket Board is set to hand a performance bonus to the Bangladesh national team players thanks to their magnificent outing in the Twenty20 internationals against the world champion England, said the board president Nazmul Hasan.
With Liton Das making a blistering 75 off 57 balls with bat and Mustafizur Rahman alongside Taskin Ahmed providing a well-timed breakthrough with the ball Bangladesh clean swept the visitors for the first time in the T20Is in the third and final tie at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.
This was also Bangladesh’s first ever 3-0 win against the three Lions in any format of cricket.
‘We used to hand them a bonus if they do anything for the first time. Apart from England we sealed the series win against all counterparts. We never won a series in any format against them. Therefore, they would get it[bonus]’ said the BCB chief in Mirpur after the match.
He further revealed that since the feat was against the world champions consequently, they demanded for a bit higher[bonus] and he agreed.
‘They said, we beat the world champions and also clean swept them, so they demanded a bit higher and I said okay.’
