Liton Das struck a blazing fifty to power Bangladesh to 158-2 against the world champions England in the third and final Twenty20 international at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.
With Liton smashing a 57-ball 73, his highest in T20Is and Najmul Hossain Shanto standing on 47 off 36 balls Bangladesh managed the exciting total.
Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan picked up one wicket each.
Bangladesh made a brilliant start being sent to bat after their opening pair went untroubled up to 55 in eighth over before Rony Talukdar survived a dolly by Rehan Ahmed on 17 from Jofra Archer and was eventually caught and bowled by Rashid.
However, the home side showed their might in the second wicket after Liton and Shnato shared a pivotal 84 off 58 balls.
Liton who had been undergoing a poor form with the bat in the last five ties against the touring England that includes three ODIs and two T20Is where finished with 7, 0, 0, 12 and 9 turned around with the gutsy bat.
The 28-year-old hit ten fours and one maximum on the way to his top score in the shortest format of cricket before he survived a catch on 53 by Ben Duckett that also bolstered the hosts total but eventually fell to Jordan in the final delivery of seventeenth over leaving the side at 139-2.
Then Shakib Al Hasan and Shanto added an 18-ball 19 to sling a challenging total.
The former remained unbeaten on 4.
The home side is leading the series by 2-0.
