The Bangladesh Cricket Board has dropped Mahmudullah and Taijul Islam but incorporated Zakir Hasan as a new face for the two of the three one day internationals against their Ireland counterparts starting at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on March 18.
The selection panel also returned Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Yasir Ali Chowdhury in the 16-man squad that they notified on Sunday.
It’s understood that with the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2024 scheduled to be held in Inda in winter this year the Tiger cricket administration opted for the change.
However, they dropped Mahmudullah on the back of his dismal outing in the recently ODIs against the touring England where he finished with 31, 32 and 8.
The first two ODIs are dated on March 18, 20 followed by the third and final on March 23 at the SICS.
