Bangladesh women's continued their winless streak as they suffered a commending 71 run defeat against New Zealand in their third encounter in the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Cape Town on Friday.

Chasing down a mammoth 190, the former Asian champions were restricted to 118-8 in the stipulated overs.

Apart from two thirties from Murshida Khatun and Shorna Akter, no other batter could play an impact innings to cruise past the challenging target.

Off-spinner Eden Carson was the peak of Kiwi bowlers, picking up 3-18 while Hanna Rowe bagged two wickets.

Earlier, New Zealand amassed an exciting 189-3 courtesy of Suzi Bates' blistering and unbeaten 81-run knock off just 61 balls, alongside a 44 off 26 balls from opener Bernadine Bezuidenhout while Maddy Green remained not out on 44 off just 20 deliveries.

Bangladesh will take on their South African counterpart in their fourth tie in the marquee competition on February 21.
