The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday signed a 48-month long agreement with the international consulting firm Populous Pte Ltd for the construction of the proposed Sheikh Hasina International Cricket Stadium in Purbachal.
BCB chief executive officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury told the media that around fifty thousand fans would be able to watch matches from its gallery once the construction is done.
‘We have just signed with Populous. Our contract with Populous is for 48 months. We are moving forward anticipating 50 thousand capacity,’ said BCB CEO.
According to agreement, the design of the much awaited stadium would be finalized by the next six months.
A power point presentation was displayed highlighting the draft of the stadium that will be settled following the evaluation by both parties.
However, the possible expenses for the construction of the stadium stadium wasn't revealed.
Populous director Andrew James was present for the consultation.
