Former Bangladesh national team skipper and also Sylhet Strikers head coach in the BPL Rajin Saleh believes that the national selectors should consider Towhid Hridoy for the national set-up thanks to his gleaming performances in the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Towhid, who is playing for Sylhet in this episode of the BPL, is ranked sixth among the top run scorers in the competition, having scored 288 runs from four appearances with four fifties and a strike rate of 149.22.
However, the 22-year-old would strengthen his place in the record tally if he wouldn’t rule out two ties for his side on the back of his finger strain that he suffered during the final game of the initial phase of Dhaka at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
‘Hridoy is playing well. He scored four fifties in this tournament. Since he is in fine form, he should be considered for the national setup,’ said Rajin on Thursday in Mirpur.
'Like him, I am confident that he would perform admirably in the national fold. He would play good cricket at the international level.’
Hridoy’s Sylhet, who are on top of the points table with 16 points after winning eight games out of 10, have already confirmed the play-offs for the ninth edition of BPL.
