Comilla win in style in record run-chase tie

Sylhet International Cricket Stadium witnessed a record run-chase in the Bangladesh Premier League match between Khulna Tigers and Comilla Victorians, that produced a mammoth 423 runs, however the defending champion Comilla Victorians laughed the last laugh as they sealed a record run-chase in the competition's history to win by seven wickets against the Khulna Tigers. 

The victory boosted Comilla to the third spot of the points table while Khulna remained in the sixth spot of the points table.  
 
Sent in to bat, Khulna amassed 210-2 riding on to two 90-plus knocks from Tamim Iqbal and West Indian Shai Hope. 
 
Following the dismissal of Mahmudul Hasan Joy inside the third over, Tamim and Hope combined, to a 184-run stand, the fifth-highest partnership for any wicket in BPL history. 
 
The Bangladesh veteran opener banged 11 boundaries and four maximums on the way of his 61-ball 95, while Hope struck seven sixes and five fours for his unbeaten 91 runs off 55 balls. 
 
In reply, Comilla suffered a massive blow  as Liton Das was retired hurt after hitting a boundary. 
 
Skipper Imrul Kayes was also finished soon but the titlists fought back Comilla as Pakistani opener Mohammad Rizwan and West Indian Johnson Charles shared a crucial 122-run stand off 69 balls. 
 
However, after Rizwan got out afterwards a blistering 39-ball 73, with eight fours and four sixes, Charles continued banging Khulna bowlers before he fell to Nahidul Islam in the 15th over.     
 
Charles reached his ton reached target with 10 balls to spare. 
 
The West Indian remained unbeaten on 107 off 56 balls, striking five boundaries and 11 sixes.     
 
Thus Comilla's 213 became the second-highest-ever total in BPL in Sylhet .
