The Bangladesh Cricket Board named 21 players for the 2023 central contract on Saturday, replacing Mahmudul Hasan, Yasir Ali, Mohammad Naim, and Shadman Islam with Syed Khaled Ahmed, Zakir Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, and Hasan Mahmud.
It is believed that the four members who were fired did so solely because of their below-average performances throughout the year, and that they were replaced by an equal number of players due to their promising performances during their tenure.
The Tigers' cricket administration included 21 players on their payroll in last year's player contract.
A total of four campaigners have been incorporated across the formats, they are Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Veteran openers Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim were considered for Tests and ODIs, while Najmul Hossain Shanto and Nurul Hasan Sohan were considered for Tests and T20Is, but Mominul Haque, along with Taijul Islam, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhuey, Syed Khaled Ahmed, and Zakir Hasan, were only considered for Tests.
Senior campaigner Mahludullah, who said adieu to the Tests and T20I, has been incorporated into the ODI contract, while Mustafizur Rahman, Afifi Hossain, and Shoriful Islam have been contracted for the ODIs and T20I.
Conversely, Nasum Ahmed, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, and Hasan Mahmud have been included in the T20I contract.
