Fortune Barishal continued their winning streak in the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League as they handed a 13-run defeat to the Dhaka Dominators at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Friday.
With Iftikhar Ahmed and Mahmudullah smacking an unbeaten 34-ball 56 and a 31-ball 35, respectively, Barishal amassed 173-5.
In reply, Dhaka were restricted to 160-4 in the stipulated overs.
Nasir Hissain, who upheld his good form with the bat, making 54 off 36 balls after playing a couple forty run innings, was also the pick among the Dhaka bowlers, scalping 2-16.
Despite being reduced to 89-5, Barishal could still win the game thanks to Mahmudullah and Iftikhar's unbeaten 84 off 57 balls for the sixth wicket.
Openers Saif Hasan and Anamul Haque were dismissed by Salman Irshad and Arafat Sunny for 10 and 6, followed by Chaturanga de Silva, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Shakib Al Hasan for 10, 17, and 30 runs, respectively, by Nasir Hossain and Muktar Ali.
Pursuing a humble target, Dhaka could take their innings past the hundred-and-fifty threshold courtesy of Usman Gani's 30; Mohammad Mithun's 47; and Nasir’s unbeaten 54.
