Liton Das hit a blistering 22-ball 40 as Comilla Victorians registered their first win in the Bangladesh Premier League, defeating Chattogram Challengers by six wickets at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.
Alongside Liton, Mohammad Rizwan made 37 off 35 balls as Comilla reached 137-4 with 15 balls to go, chasing down a moderate 135-8.
Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara was the pick among the bowlers, claiming two wickets, while Mrittunjoy and Ziaur Rahman took one wicket each for the bowling side.
Earlier, host Chattogram lost their opener Usman Khan in the first over before Dutch opener Max O'Dowd and Afif Hossain shared a 43-run stand for the second wicket.
However, both Max (24) and Afif (29) fell soon-after reaching their twenties, and Chattogram lost their way.
At some point, they were even struggling on 78-6 inside 14 overs.
Then skipper Shuvagata Hom smashed a 23-ball 37 to post a decent total on the board.
Spinners Tanvir Islam, Khusdil Shah, and Mosaddek Hossain bagged two wickets each for Comilla.
