Syhlet eye to carry on momentum

Sylhet Strikers wicketkeeper Akbar Ali vowed to carry on their Dhaka phase momentum in Chattogram when they take on the Dhaka Dominators on Monday at the port city's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

The tie between the table topper and fifth position holder of the competition will start at 1:30 pm, followed by the day’s evening game between the Chattogram Challengers and defending champion Comilla Victorians at 6:30 pm, and Nagarik TV will televise the games live.

‘We have won all four games in the Dhaka phase. Momentum is on our side. As a result, we would like to maintain the momentum in the two ties of the Chattogram episode as well,' Akbar said on Sunday at the ZACS.

Sylhet Strikers will undoubtedly miss their key batsman Twohid Hridoy, who was sidelined for two weeks due to a finger injury sustained during their previous game in the Dhaka phase against the same team.

The 22-year-old who played at three and hit three fifties is holding down the top spot in the points table, bagging 195 runs at an average of 65.00 alongside an impressive strike rate of 166.66.

However, Akbar was unable to relay who would replace Towhid in the Chattogram phase.

Look, this is part of our team's planning. I couldn’t reveal it. The way he was featuring, unbelievable. As a result, whoever replaces him will bear a great deal of responsibility for him.

On the contrary, Dhaka, who are in fifth place on the table, would also be desperate to overcome their winless streak.

And to achieve success, alongside their batting department, their bowlers are also expected to step up.

Chattanooga, on the other hand, is in fourth place until the tournament's start date and would be eager to win.

In this regard, their thrashing eight-wicket victory over Dhaka would undoubtedly boost their morale.

Conversely, the titlist, Comilla, who has yet to secure a single win in their three games, would be reckless to restore their glory and turn the tables on their Chattogram counterpart.
