Afif Hossain and his Afghanistan teammate Darwish Rasooli shared an influential 103-run stand in the third wicket that aided Chattigram Challengers to register a commanding 8-wicket win over Dhaka Dominators in the Bangladesh Premier League at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, on Saturday.

That means Chattogram has won their second match of the competition, while Dhaka has gone winless since their last victory in the Dhaka phase.

Afif hit an unbeaten 69 off 52 balls, his first fifty in this edition of BPL, while Rasooli stood on a cracking 33-ball 56 to pull Chattogram to 159-2, with 14 balls to go, chasing down 158-6.

Usman Ghani top-scored for Dhaka with a 33-ball 47, while Mehedi Hasan Rana and Nihaduzzand each took two wickets.

Batting first, the Dhaka Dominators made a decent start as their opening pair, Mizanur Rahman and Usman Gani, formed a 56-ball 60 before the former was removed for a sluggish 33-ball 28 by Nihaduzzaman in 9.2 overs.

Usman copied the steps of his outgoing partner just after two overs by the same bowler, leaving the side at 79-2.

Then, riding on Usman Gani, Niasir Hossain, and Ariful Haque’s 33-ball-47, 22-ball-30, and 18-ball-29, Dhaka managed a moderate 158-6.

In response, Chattogram had a shaky start as well, losing their opener Al Amin for a duck, bringing them to 1-1 inside the first frame.

However, in the second and third wicket stand, Afif Hossain, Usman Khan, and Afif Darwish Rasooli shared a match winning 55 and 103 run stand to reach the hosts at the harbor of the victory.
