Shorna Akter struck a robust fifty that powered Bangladesh U-19 team to a three-wicket win over India in their final warm-up game of the approaching ICC U-19 Women's World Cup at the St Stithians Ground in Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
With Shorna smashing a 54-ball 75, pummeling two fours and seven maximus, the young Tigresses managed a humble 121-7 in the T20-over game.
In reply, their Indian counterpart were restricted to 118-2 after they appeared with their low-priced bowling spells with Deepa Khatun and Rabeya Khatun scaling one wicket each.
Aside from Shorna, it was Afia Prottasha who could manage a double digit for Bangladesh.
For India, Trisha Gangadi scored atop 44 off 36 balls while her fellow teammate Shefali Verma finished with 36 runs.
The Bangladesh U-19 team will commence their ICC U-19 World Cup campaign taking on Australia in the tournament opener on January 14 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
