The touring BCB XI is yet to know who they are going to encounter during their visit to Tamil Nadu where they are scheduled to play two four-day and three one-day matches set to start on October 12.
Bangladesh national team selector Habibul Bashar told the media on Saturday in a formal press conference that they are yet to receive the list of the counterparts during the approaching visit. However, he could confirm that they are expected to play against a state team.
‘We haven’t got the list yet of whom we are going to vie. However, so far I know that we will be playing against their core provincial side,’ said Habibul."
‘They [Tamil Nadu] are already featuring in a one-day tournament among those who are used to playing the four-day game in the Ranji, are anticipated to compete against us,’ he added.
This is not the end of the dilemma; their travel date has also been rescheduled due to visa complications. Earlier, they were scheduled to travel on October 9, while now they would be traveling on October 11.
‘We have rescheduled the travel plan due to visa complications, therefore our side wouldn’t be able to travel on October 9. I hope it will be done by October 10 and they will leave Dhaka on October 11,'said the Tigers selector.
Meanwhile, BCB XI skipper Mohammad Mithun, who also attended the press conference, said that they are always keen to leave a team performance rather than an individual during any tour for the ‘A’ team.
'Individual performance would surely give you an advantage, but when we play for the ‘A’ team, we always prioritize the team performance over the individual.
As per the fixtures that has been declared for the forthcoming series, the BCB XI will play the two four-days from October 12 to 15 and October 19-22, respectively, while the one-days will be played on October 27, 29, and 31 respectively.
