Fortune Barisal skipper Shakib Al Hasan once again found involved in a heated argument with the field umpires Gazi Sohel and Raveendra Wimalasiri during their tie against the Rangpur Riders of the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at the start of Barisal's batting innings, who were set to chase down 158-7 set by Rangpur.
Rangpur started their bowling innings with off-spinner SK Mahedi. However, when their skipper Nurul Hasan found that Barisal’s right-hand opener Chaturanga de Silva was taking the strike, Nurul then brought the left arm spinner Rakibul Hasan in place of Mahedi as a matchup.
However, Shakib couldn’t accept it and subsequently came on the field from the dressing room and was spotted exchanging heated arguments with the field umpires. Although eventually the umpires sustained Shakib’s decision allowing Rakibul to open their innings with the ball.
This is not the end Shakib’s on field misbehavior, as earlier on Friday, the ace all-rounder was also seen in his outburst with an umpire's decision in their opening tie after the field umpire didn’t declare a bowl as ‘no’ on the back of its height issue.
