Although Dhaka Dominators are not a top side on paper however their famed domestic players are handing them a boost to fight neck-to-neck in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League, which begins on January 6.
Dhaka pacer Taskin Ahmed, who appeared before the media on Wednesday, also vowed to secure a spot among the top wicket takers of the competition.
Apart from the Bangladesh national team trio, Soumya Sraker, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam, the Dhaka franchise also roped in a substantial number of promising domestic performers like Nasir Hossain, Al Amin Hossain, and Alok Kapali, who are quite adept at changing the complexion of a game.
‘May be it is not a big team in black and white. However, there are some domestic players who have the ability to win matches. You never know if they could do as well,’ said Taskin.
‘I have a wish to be among the top wicket takers. I would always be keen to have some match winning spells alongside contributing for my team,’ he added.
He also promised to perform his gleaming shows during the competition.
‘I am hoping to do well, I will give my best. I always used to say that nothing goes on outside of the process.’
He also reminded that, as a senior member of the team, he would also have to endure pressure, although he is used to it.
"There is always pressure when we appear in a tie, as I was roped in as an icon player in the last two years, which is a pressure."So whenever and wherever I play I try to manage the pressure.’
