The frenzy for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League is taking over in the country’s cricket fraternity as the participants of the country’s lone franchise competition has started in bloom.
The ninth version of BPL is going to start on January 6 and will continue until February 16 with the country’s three divisions Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet hosting the competition.
Aside from the Dhaka Dominators, all six participants in the country’s lone Twenty20 franchise competition held their training sessions at the BCB Academy and Bashundhara King’s Arena, respectively, on Monday.
However, the former are expected to begin their buildup on Tuesday.
Fortune Barisal and Chattogram Challengers began the day sweating at the BCB Academy Ground as part of their preparation for the competition.
Apart from Shakib Al Hasan, the majority of the local players who have been roped in by Barisal finished their opening day’s official training session.
Meanwhile, the media cell of the franchise informed that their three overseas players, Rakeem Cornwall, Ibrahim Zadran, and Karim Zanat, are set to join them on January 4.
However, the remaining foreign members; Ifthekhar Ahmed, Mohammad Wasim, Omar Kadir, Kesrik William, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Hayder Ali, Chaturanga De Silva, are anticipated to join the side subsequently.
Chattogram also ran their training session in the morning phase.
However, following the departure of Barisal and Chattogram at noon, the Sylhet Strikers, Khulna Tigers, and Comilla Victorians also ran their training at the same venue until the evening of the day.
