The champions of the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League cricket will receive Tk 2 crore while the runners-up team would be handed Tk 1 crore and the other TK one crore will be distributed among the best performers of the competition starting on January 6.
The BPL's governing council member secretary, Ismal Haider Mallick, told the media on Saturday that they were set to hold an opening ceremony for the contention in a small capacity.
‘The champion team will be handed Tk 2 crore, while the runners-up will be handed Tk 1 crore, and the remaining Tk 1 crore will be allocated to the tournament's best performers,’ said Mallick.
‘Opening ceremony will be staged in a small capacity therefore a concert would be held during the pause of day’s two ties.’
Meanwhile a murmur is taking place in the country's cricket fraternity that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board is unwilling to issue the No Objection Certificate for their star campaigners to vie in the country’s lone glamorous franchise contention.
However, Mallick cleared up all the mutterings before the media.
‘We don’t have any complications with any board regarding the NOC. If they don’t have a national commitment, they would be available.’
