Central Zone opener Abdullah Al Mamun struck a fifty to script a crushing 10-wicket win against the North Zone on the third day of the third round game of the Bangladesh Cricket League at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Wednesday.
Mamun and his fellow partner Abdul Mazid stood on a 70-ball 66 and 17 to take Central Zone to 85 in 17.4 overs, pursuing a paltry 81.
North Zone, who made a humble 169 in the first innings, were bowled out for 247 in the second innings.
However, Central Zone managed a challenging 335 run.
North Zone resumed their innings on 122-4, with their overnight batsmen Saif Hasan and Nasir Hossain remaining unbeaten on 26 and 0 runs, respectively.
However, the pair could add one run after the latter was removed for 1.
Then, riding on Akbar Ali and Saif Hasan’s 88 and 43 runs respectively North Zone could post 247 runs before they were all-out, trailing their Central Zone counterpart by a slim 81 run.
Abu Hider was the pick among the Central Zone bowlers, scalping 4-66.
However, chasing down a slim 81, Abdullah Al mamun and Mazib reached the target as they went untroubled.
